I'm going to make a "what are you reading"-thread as well, but first I have to be reading something to contribute!
So! At the moment I'm only reading articles and books for uni classes, but some proper fiction would be nice as well. What are books that you found compelling, well-written, or just plain enjoyed reading?

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this... But what the hell, I'll talk about it again.
This book is not really compelling, not really well-written, and definitely not a very enjoyable read (it makes you shift in your chair out of pure discomfort) - But it's a must-read for fans of the classic Dracula by Bram Stoker.
You see, this book is called Dracula, The Un-Dead by Dacre Stoker. It is considered an "official" sequel (that'll undoubtedly make old Mr. Stoker turn in his grave) since it is written by Bram's great-grand nephew (or something like that).
This sequel basically makes Dracula (the villain of the first book) into the good guy - All the characters we knew and loved have all fallen into weak shadows of themselves... Basically it's just all really bleak, everyone dies in one way or another, some of the good guys are now the bad guys, and the bad guys are now the good guys.
It's interesting to see a modern re-interpretation of an old story, by a relation of the original writer, so it's quite worth reading if you've read the original story - But it still makes you squirm sometimes when you realize how it's treading hard on the toes of its prequel.

Oh wait, I have another series of books to recommend!
It's a series of novels called Maximum Ride - It's about these mutant kids whose DNA is 98% Human, 2% Bird. They were actually made so by scientists in a lab and they escaped from there, causing them to be continually hunted down.
The books are a roller-coaster ride of emotion, the high action events really keep your adrenaline pumping. Definitely worth a read!
