Oh, apparently it's because I wasn't signed in, DERP.
Kinda surprised Guests can also make threads, odd.

D: Didn't know they can! Gotta fix that right away xD
Also, you can't easily embed videos cuz there's no way to turn HTML on I'm afraid.

^haha yeah! Awww okay. It's cause i've been downloading a lot of HD lives of kumi's performances, and was going to make a full all performances thread, but some of the files are HUGE so I can't upload them to a filehsaring site like mediafire or box.net, so I started uploading them to dailymotion, but now i'm not sure that's going to work, hahaha. :X

Do you think changing the video title into something else will take care of the copyright? Or do they actually go through the video content and track how similar the audio is etc? Sometimes mirroring the image helps dodge the authorities.

mr avex man, you sir are doing it wrong. You know why K-pop is massive?? exposure thats why ( not the naked kind thats too xxx for koreans) people all over the world follow it, its like a freaking cult now cos its so accessible. Jpop however is harder to come by. All you can see on YT is people singing the song or playing it on their piano or guitar. sometimes people used them in making AMVs , however they get muted by avex anyway faster than you can say "ayumi the cashmaker" oh and apparently kpop is massive cos of their chiseled bodies. k thanks.

lmao right on
I feel like Japanese companies think Japan is big enough of a market on its own, no need to spread it elsewhere as well. Either that or the only reason Japan is still the 2nd largest music industry in the world is because people are forced to buy songs instead of watching them online.

They're just lucky that the japanese support their own industry pretty religiously in forms of actually buying everything that comes out. I dont doubt Avex's marketing ability in Japan at all since they're pretty crafty about release dates and first press gimmicks and that probably does warrant their 'well no need to care about international support' thing. All I can say is they're missing out on a pretty decent slice of pie.mmm pie.

So true, so true. YG and other korean companies have done it right by allowing YT to become a good source of promotion for their artists. I mean even for coverists, everybody used to cover JPOP but now only cover KPOP because if you even TRY to upload a JPOP cover it gets deleted. :/ JPOP is so much harder to come by now because the companies will scarcly let it around the internet, where most of the younger generation (who give them the most income) are mainly looking on the internet for things these days. They're just shooting themselves in the foot.
I don't why Japan are so anal about stuff being uploaded on Youtube. The only way I can think of is because in Japan they sell the music videos with the CD, which is why they don't upload the full ones to YT, otherwise people will just download them rather than buy them? They're really anal about copyright anyway. I've been trying to upload these lives of Kuu for DAYS now, on Dailymotion and Youtube, and they just get rejected on Dailymotion or the sound gets muted on Youtube. :/ To be honest, if I had the choice between buying the PV on DVD or watching it on Youtube whenever I want in HD, I would choose HD. The DVD PVs are tiny on my screen. :/
I really wish Japanese companied would be more considerate towards the international fans like YG. I mean, I don't think they even acknowledge international fans. I'd love to be a part of YG. They look after their artists well and always acknowledge international fans, which is why they put English subtitles on 2NE1 TV, which I LOVE them for.

Kpop artists occasionally include PVs but I feel that generally if you're the kind to buy CDs its not going to matter if u can get the PVs for free cos you were going to buy the release anyway. Plus you can get the actual audio for free anyway via the same way virtually so if they were going to get the CD for free having the PVs taken off YT isnt going to make them buy the CD xP
yeah thats very true, its great they include English subtitles , but they've caught on to the money they can make if they do and really how much effort could it take to get a translator to do that? it would surely pay off even if say the English market wasnt that big.

The Guardian (popular paper in UK) actually posted a huge article about K-POP coming more popular in the West yesterday, it was awesome. I mean, K-POP companies actually acknowledged that they take advantage of the internet as great publicity to an international fan-base. Y U NO DO, JAPAN? J-POP used to be the most popular on YT and the internet years ago, before Japan companies went all anal about copyright. In the end people stopped posting or covering anything to do with J-POP because of them. They're just shooting themselves in the foot, really.
